Born in West London, as soon as she could read and write Sophie started writing plays for her and her friends to perform in. She took extra drama lessons at school and performed in multiple school plays and drama festivals.
After drama school she started touring in theatre productions, both classical and new writing, including roles such as Helena in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’; Belle & The Ghost of Christmas Past in ‘A Christmas Carol’; Ma in ‘Citizen Ken’; Viperella the dancing courtesan in ‘The Comedy of Errors’; a feisty, sword-fighting Mrs Capulet in ‘Romeo & Juliet’; and the demanding girl boss Poppy in new farce 'The Visitors'. Film work includes the witty Amy Joyce in ‘The Lockdown Hauntings’; tortured and struggling heroine Lotty in 'Lotty' and the free-wheeling Brenda in 'Ex's Anonymous'. She has also worked on numerous radio productions including playing: Barbara in 'Buzzards'; Connie in ‘Unmoored’; Miss Stapleton in ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’; Helen Stoner in ‘The Adventure of the Speckled Band.' During lockdown in 2020 Sophie set up a home recording booth and started venturing deeper into the world of VoiceOver. As studios were closed down, remote recording opened up a whole new way of working and she developed relationships with creatives and companies all over the world, in Canada, USA, Europe and Australia. Post lockdown she continues to work as a voice artist for animation, audio drama & comedy, video games, audiobooks and narration, both from home and in local studios. She’s known for bringing an engaging emotional depth and richness to her roles and frequently plays characters torn between difficult moral decisions. Upcoming in 2023 she can be seen playing DS Elizabeth Loughton in mini series ‘I Killed Solomon Reid’, Penny in Season 3 of ‘Grimoire’ and Amy in ‘The Lockdown Hauntings’ Latam cinema release. |
